Abstract

The topic of the article is the ecclesiality of theology from a reading of the theology of John Baptist Metz. The proposal is to articulate in three moments: the subject of the theology of the subject and of who are the subjects of theology. Second, the specific and foundational relationship of Theology and People of God, which concretely expresses the ecclesial place of the intelligence of the faith. Third, within the vocation of the Christian theologian and how it is understood from its place in the believing community. By way of conclusion, the article ends by inviting a continual rethinking of the levels of closeness and belonging that theologians have with particular communities, and on the contrary, to show whether our creative reflection is carried out only from an academic space closed from listening and constant dialogue with the real situations of the Church.
